AGAIN: there are NO hardcoded pathes. There are just relative  
directory names.

Can't interpret this. (somehow environment and compile time do not  
match that well ;-)

No, this doesn't make any sense. GNUstep obviously needs to expose its  
settings at run- or compiletime, otherwise a program can't work?!

Would be nice to have that, otherwise we would need to compile lF with  
the old makefiles and then compile the rest with new ones? Possible,  
but awkward.
