I am now right now planning to use Ogo or SoGo in a few different settings and therefore I got some questions regarding which version to use: The first thing is regarding the Thunderbird plugin. Will this plugin work with the "normal" versions (and the new java based one) of OGO? Also, I am curious about the what are the release timelines for Sogo and Jogo with regard to what features will come etc. Is it possible to build a OGO server today using only java? Thank you for your time. The GroupDAV ones should work with OGo too, minus bugs which might need a fix of course. > Also, I am curious about the what are the release timelines for Sogo > and > Jogo with regard to what features will come etc. There are no specific release timelines, at least on my side development is mostly customer driven (not only projects directly related to OGo, but also such which produce enough revenue so that I can take time off to do work on OGo ;-) > Is it possible to build a OGO server today using only java? No. And this will probably take a while, we currently use Java to build highly customized frontends to the OGo backend. Anyways, its the 'plan' to build a 'generic' frontend using Java as well. Eventually all services might be ported to Java, but the pressure is very low since the ObjC ones are working reasonably well. I didn't know of the SoGO integrator plugin[1] before you mentioned it. Interesting stuff. 1. http://www.inverse.ca/contributions/sogo_integrator.html Thanks for clearing things up. I guess I will just have to test both Sogo and OGo before I decide :) regards, Tarjei >> Also, I am curious about the what are the release timelines for Sogo and >> Jogo with regard to what features will come etc. > > There are no specific release timelines, at least on my side development > is mostly customer driven (not only projects directly related to OGo, > but also such which produce enough revenue so that I can take time off > to do work on OGo ;-) > >> Is it possible to build a OGO server today using only java? > > > No. And this will probably take a while, we currently use Java to build > highly customized frontends to the OGo backend.
