Hi Folks!
Here's an idea I've seen work well with other
applications, which might work well on the
documentation plone... "cookbooks" containing
"recipes" on how to get OGo to do what you want it to.
The first I would suggest is a Market Segment one,
where people can contribute how they use OGo for
certain fields (i.e. like a small medical practice,
dental practice, real estate office, service company,
legal office, corporate PIM/CRM, etc.). This can help
people understand how OGo can help them, especially
those who are currently looking for a solution for
their needs. Some folks may not realize how powerful
and customizable OGo is, and may overlook it thinking
it's not what they need.
The second I would suggest is a customization section.
How to customize the look and feel, how to set
holidays, what other software can I use with OGo...
that sort of thing. Maybe in an FAQ type format, so
that folks looking to solve their problems on their
own have an easier time finding stuff. I know there's
the search feature, but sometimes it returns too many
hits if it's a common term you search on.
Much of this material can all be gleaned from what is
already on the docs plone. Just create a framework to
hold it when it's published, and then link it together
so it's easy to find. There's a lot of good material
there, and if people each maintain their own
contributions (and maybe enable comments, in order to
enhance it) a lot of folks can benefit from it.
Have a good one!
/Mike
