Ever tried to install from pure FTP? ;-) You could not install a SuSE 
without buying the CD.

BTW: SLES 9 is also a free download. You just don't get maintenance 
updates.

OGo is available through yum and apt4rpm (and of course through apt/deb 
for people using a real Linux distro ;-).
It also used to be available through RedCarpet, though this is likely 
to be broken currently (but it is probably trivial to get up again).

I don't know what is required for YaST http repositories.
