Okay,
I know, bad form to reply to yourself :)
I found that by adapting the info on setting up with RH9, I've managed
to get it working.
I needed to configure and run zidestore - I'd missed that bit
completely.
In evolution, I needed to have OWA path set as /zidestore/so
Heypresto everything seems to work now.
