All,
USA.NET recently made available our GroupDAV server for access to user
calendars and tasks (no contacts yet and no free-busy lookups yet). I'd =
love
to have people that are working on clients do some testing against our se=
rver
and let me know how it works out.
If anyone would like a test account created, let me know. I will create =
the
account for you under the "@usa.net" domain, known as "Netaddress". When=
we
add free-busy lookup support to our GroupDAV server, I can create a diffe=
rent
test domain so people can see each other's free-busy info within the doma=
in =
(we host messaging services for a lot of different domains, and we allow
things like a domain-wide global address list and free-busy lookups to be=
configured differently for our different customers; the "@usa.net" domain=
is
configured to not allow any users to view information about any other use=
rs).
Since GroupDAV is new to our server, we have not published the server
information yet. Here is the basic information to configure a client:
GroupDAV URL: https://dav.postoffice.net/ (https is required)
Authentication: full email address with password
The actual URLs for the calendar and task containers will be
https://dav.postoffice.net/domain/user/Calendar
https://dav.postoffice.net/domain/user/Tasks
For example, for user joe@usa.net, the calendar container would be
https://dav.postoffice.net/usa.net/joe/Calendar
POP: pop.postoffice.net
IMAP: imap.postoffice.net
SMTP: smtp.postoffice.net
Authentication to the POP/IMAP/SMTP servers also uses the user's full ema=
il
address and password. SMTP supports AUTH=3DLogin. I will try to setup a=
ny test
accounts to support optional SSL on the standard alternative ports for PO=
P and
IMAP, and either 25 or 465 for SMTP.
To look at our web client for the "@usa.net" domain, go to
http://www.netaddress.com/. After login, you will be able to see email,
calendar, tasks, contacts, etc. The Preferences->Settings page within th=
e web
client allows configuration of the web client, including setting of the u=
ser's
timezone and calendar view settings.
I have done some limited testing with Kontact, but I would really like to=
do
more as well as have some other clients that customers can use.
Thanks,
Chris Bryant

Subject: [GroupDAV] OGo GroupDAV Testserver
Hi there,
since the fruitsalad server shut down, we setup a new server to test =
GroupDAV clients against OGo, the URL is:
https://kde.opengroupware.org
/zidestore
/OpenGroupware
If you want to have an account, just let me know. I try to keep the =
install up to date with SOPE 4.5 / OGo 1.1. Note that this server =
currently only supports HTTPS.
Then I also got a mail from Chris from USA.NET:
---snip---
I work at USA.NET, an eMessaging service provider, and I wanted to =
let you know that we recently added partial GroupDAV support to our =
server. Although we don't release or deliver any of our source code, =
and are therefore not an Open Source project, we rely on standards =
and the free and commercial clients that conform to those standards =
to allow users to connect to our servers. I think GroupDAV is a =
great, simple protocol for groupware clients to connect to groupware =
servers.
Our implementation currently supports Calendar and Tasks, but does =
not currently support Contacts. We also do not currently publish =
calendar Free-Busy information. If someone wants more information on =
how to connect with our server, or if anyone wants some test accounts =
to test with, they can contact me or support@corpx.usa.net.
---snap---
And of course you can also get accounts for Citadel.
Greets,
Helge
