The latest release of the Thunderbird GroupDAV Plugin is now available at: http://inverse.ca/groupware/plugins/addressbook.groupdav-0.58.xpi Improvements in this release: 1.Fix for card duplication during creation and synchronization of cards in thunderbird 2.0 2.Better error message on upload errors 3.Now support text/vcard as the content-type of the response 4.Now support HTTP Response 200 as a successful response code (for OGo) 5.Overhaul of vcard 3.0 support: UTF-8 is now fully supported(non ascii-characters), Note on multi-lines is properly parsed and sent. Please note that there is a problem with automatic updates and Thunderbird 2.0.*. We are working on it! Documentation can be found at: http://www.inverse.ca/contributions/thunderbird_groupdav_plugin.html Feedback and comments are more than welcome. You can do so by sending a mail either to this list or to support@inverse.ca Enjoy! -- Robert Bolduc From groupdav@opengroupware.org Mon May 21 12:17:58 2007 From: groupdav@opengroupware.org (Mathew McBride) Date: Mon, 21 May 2007 21:17:58 +1000 Subject: [GroupDAV] Funambol 6.0 and other connector updates Message-ID: Hello all, Some have emailed me to ask what will be happening with regards to Funambol 6.0, which was released last week after some time in beta. At the moment I'm focusing on fixing bugs in the current connector series. Since the sync source API's are forwards and backwards compatible not a lot of work needs to be done (most likely none at all!), but since Funambol 6.0 is deployed differently on Tomcat, the external libraries may need to be placed back within the module package. If anyone wishes to try right now, I'd like to hear how you go on. I'll try and attack it with the next few days. Anyway, there is a new connector, 1838, which has fixes for all day events, particularly in Symbian S60, at http://comalies.citadel.org/~matt/funambol/latest/1838/ . Included in the package are two synclets for Funambol which can be installed to modify the data being sent/received within Funambol's data pipeline (pre/post connector) - the two scripts included will insert an X-attribute to tell Symbian's calendar of all day events. I haven't tested this release (1838) as much as previous ones, however. Some, myself included, have had sporadic problems with the contacts syncsource. If you end up with an exception during sync, please send me a logfile. (Its my intention that contacts sync source will be completely rewritten to support multiple GroupDAV sources and allow some pre-processing similar to Funambols synclets to combat problems with behavior among different clients. The calendar sources will be modified with multi-source support as well) From groupdav@opengroupware.org Mon May 21 14:09:25 2007 From: groupdav@opengroupware.org (Adam Tauno Williams) Date: Mon, 21 May 2007 09:09:25 -0400 Subject: [GroupDAV] Funambol 6.0 and other connector updates In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: <1179752965.4567.8.camel@aleph.whitemice.org> --=-PPeUT6Ikl3hmaRQAzMCu Content-Type: text/plain Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable > Some have emailed me to ask what will be happening with regards to Funamb= ol > 6.0, which was released last week after some time in beta. > At the moment I'm focusing on fixing bugs in the current connector series= . > Since the sync source API's are forwards and backwards compatible not a l= ot > of work needs to be done (most likely none at all!), but since Funambol 6= .0 > is deployed differently on Tomcat, the external libraries may need to be > placed back within the module package. No. However, there is a recommendation from the OMA on how to properly format all day events using SyncML and vCal, which involves formatting dtend as 24:00[1]. The connector now sends this under vCal mode. Theres also been some adjustments to how all day ical2 events are detected to ensure all day events are passed along from older zidestore versions. >From testing with Synthesis all day events passed to/from various client/servers do seem to work fine. Funambol setup works all the way through to getting the groupdave connectors to appear in the admin screen and all seems ok until I try to save connector settings. Then there are server errors, which may be due to missing jars (although I don't think there are any missing and have tried various combinations). I've tried both hypersonic and postgresql databases but cannot get the groupdav connectors to store. Other connectors are ok. It would be good to have some simple guidelines for installing the connector with the funambol V6 bundle, free from the baggage of previous versions. In particular a list of what jars (with their versions) should be in what directories (wanting to avoid replacing newer with older), and examples of groupdav connector administration panel settings. OGo examples would be most useful for me. Cheers. OGo examples would be most useful for me. Cheers. With the following recipe you should at least be able to setup the GroupDAV sources. Note that I haven't been able to do much real testing with v6.0, so likely there are other problems. http://docs.opengroupware.org/Members/whitemice/applications/syncml/funambol-setup/document_view From groupdav@opengroupware.org Wed May 23 04:10:55 2007 From: groupdav@opengroupware.org (Ron Segal) Date: Wed, 23 May 2007 15:10:55 +1200 Subject: [GroupDAV] Funambol 6.0 and other connector updates - Plea In-Reply-To: <1179887112.4285.1.camel@aleph.whitemice.org> References: <4653A23D.60601@mindhut.com> <1179887112.4285.1.camel@aleph.whitemice.org> Message-ID: <4653B0BF.7090304@mindhut.com> Thanks, and for the warning, maybe I'll start over. Before doing this, couple of uncertainties with the recipe (that's a good word it). bin/install.sh tomcat50 The V6 install normally just executes bin/install.sh and I think this runs with tomcat55. cp /tmp/jgroupdav/gdav_libs/*.jar $FUNAMBOL_HOME/tools/tomcat/server/lib/ .. cp /tmp/jgroupdav/gdav_libs/*.jar $DS_SERVER_HOME/lib/ Installs some jar files (from the gdav_libs tar) that are older versions than those provided by the V6 bundle. Should I push ahead with this part of the recipe anyway? Also, my Postgresql jar is postgresql-8.1-409.jdbc3.jar Should I try reverting to the older one? Cheers.
