Personally I always use the Entropy PostgreSQL packages which work just 
great.

Yes, this should still work.

Also looks good.

For both howtos I recommend running

   ./configure --enable-debug --disable-strip --with-gnustep

after sourcing GNUstep.sh and prior starting the 'make'. In both, the 
SOPE and OGo directories.

OGo 1.1 (trunk) is recommended for OSX.

Yes, there seem to be issues with nhsd on OSX. This was a topic some 
months ago in this list, you might want to check the archives.

If you use configure it should be left out automatically, otherwise you 
can specify "libpisock=no" when running make. This will deselect 
building of the Palm HotSync.

I think the Palm sync is just not fully ported on OSX yet. However you
