The last time I built OGo was from version 1.1.6 yummy in August 2006 and using SOPE 4.5.9 alpha with gnustep-make 1.10, so I noticed a few teeny tin= y changes when running the web-ui, and thus the formation of my questions: 1.) After starting web-ui, I noticed this new message: Apr 29 17:32:38 ogo-webui-1.1 [4461]: SNS support disabled. > What is SNS? 2.) P.S. Works well with others

iCal Server uses open calendaring protocols for integrating with leading calendaring programs including iCal 3 in Leopard, Mozilla's Sunbird, OSAF's Chandler and Microsoft Outlook. These open standard protocols include CalDAV =97 a set of extensions to WebDAV =97 and interchange formats such as iCalendar, iMIP, and iTIP.

Apple is a member of the CalConnect Consortium and is committed to open, standards-based calendaring and scheduling protocols. To further the widespread adoption and deployment of these calendaring standards, complete source code will be released to the open source community as part of the Darwin Calendar Server project, hosted on the opensource.apple.com<= /a> website

=09=09=09=09 =09=09=09=09Yes Apple, and don't forget our friend OpeGroupware!
Apple is also incorporating Ruby on Rails
http://www.apple.com/server/macosx/leopard= /more.html which is free marketing for Rails (this is similar to what I'd lov= e to see Apple do with OpenGroupware):

Internet and Web

Leopard Server also features administration for either Apache 2.2 or 1.3, MySQL 5 with Apache/MySQL/PHP integration, JBoss 4, and Tomcat 5 for hosting EJB 3.0 and J2EE 1.4-compliant enterprise applications, and Ruby on Rails with Mongrel for simplified development and deployment of web-based applications.

=20 =09=09=09=09 =09=09=09=09If Apple bundled OpenGroupware with Leopard, it could bring a l= ot of momentum and wider adoption and therefore a more rich community of us= ers using OpenGroupware IMHO (note: this is nothing against OpenBSD, FreeBS= D, or Linux whatsoever). It would just be nice to see OpenGroupware in the = hands of more people including people who might not be greatly skilled at h= andling the vagaries of sys admin that requires patience such as when build= ing OGo and SOPE and gnustep-make with mod_ngo for Apache. And for the doub= ters about the future of Apple and about Apple being influential, its clear= from Paul Graham's Essay (Graham of Y Combinator startup company incub= ator and investment company) that Apple is well on its way to a rare comeba= ck:

http://www.pau= lgraham.com/microsoft.html

The last nail in the coffin came, of all = places, from Apple. =20 Thanks to OS X, Apple has come back from the dead in a way that is extremely rare in technology. [2] Their victory is so complete that I'm now surprised when I come across a computer running Windows. Nearly all the people we fund at Y Combinator use Apple laptops. It was the same in the audience at=20 startup school. All the computer people use Macs or Linux now. Windows is for grandmas, like Macs used to be in the 90s. So not only does the desktop no longer matter, no one who cares about computers uses Microsoft's anyway.

And= of course Apple has Microsoft on the run in music too, with TV and phones on the way.

I'm glad Microsoft is dead. They were like Nero or=20 Commodus=97evil in the way only inherited power can make you. Because remember, the Microsoft monopoly didn't begin with Microsoft. They got it from IBM.

So let's tag team Microsoft Exchan= ge. How about a fund raiser to send Helge Hess and his core team of OGo mus= keteers to beautiful Cupertino, California to meet with Apple at their head= quarters and do some further Microsoft coffin nailing! It would be a great = way to come full circle considering that OpenGroupware is possible due to t= he origins of NeXTSTEP and WebObjects :-)
