Does anyone know the status of what seems to be the pandora's box that is recurring appointments via zidestore (specifically zidelook/zidestore/outlook)? Is zidestore what it is and it is up to the clients to conform to zidestore? Do I need to ask this question of the zidelook people or the sogo groupdav connector for mozilla? I have read enough posts to understand the differences between zidestore and various clients, but not many posts about what is being done about it. We are a church that has been "trying" to use ogo for about a year, but since 85% of what gets posted to the calendar are recurring appointments nobody wants to use the calendar as trying to get people to use more than one interface (webui vs. outlook or mozilla) is next to impossible (especially considering half our people are volunteers). Recurring Outlook appointments are super hard. I don't expect the =20 'old' Skyrix zidestore will get fixed for recurrences. There is a new GroupDAV collector in the works which will convert =20 Outlook recurrences to iCal ones. This will improve the situation a lot. > Is zidestore what it is and it is up to the clients to conform to =20 > zidestore? In the current ZideLook/ZideStore setup processing of recurrences is =20 done in the Skyrix ZideStore. It has nothing to do with GroupDAV or =20 iCal (it uses MAPI encoded as WebDAV properties). > Do I need to ask this question of the zidelook people or the sogo =20 > groupdav connector for mozilla? Obviously SOGo Connector for *Mozilla* has nothing to do with =20 *Outlook* :-) But using SOGo Connector + Mozilla Thunderbird + OGo might improve =20 your recurrence support. > I have read enough posts to understand the differences between =20 > zidestore and various clients, but not many posts about what is =20 > being done about it. As mentioned above the current plan is to move the Outlook recurrence =20= handling to the plugin and let ZideStore deal with just iCalendar. > We are a church that has been =93trying=94 to use ogo for about a = year, =20 > but since 85% of what gets posted to the calendar are recurring =20 > appointments It would be helpful to know the various recurrence patterns you =20 actually use. What Outlook version do you use? [Peter Duda] Yes :) I have been following their progress, and they really starting to get close, but I still haven't gotten most recurrence patterns to work, but that is all for a different list. > It would be helpful to know the various recurrence patterns you > actually use. > What Outlook version do you use? [Peter Duda] Outlook 2003 with the most recent zidelook - and our main recurrence patterns are simple weekly events and monthly events on a specified week (i.e. the second Wednesday of the month). That is all I really need and we would be very happy. Cheers Peter
