Yes, synchronizing with SyncXML is possible with Funambol and Ludovic 
Marcotte's Funambol plugin for SOGo.
Please note that Inverse has written two plugins for integrating 
Mozilla Thunderbird with SOGo:

In relatively short term, we will provide the same interface on 
Thunderbird for registering calendars and addressbooks as what is 
available on the SOGO web interface...
