[SOGo] Linker error under Debian Etch

 I've just tried compiling SOGo on Ubuntu (Hardy Herron), and I'm 
getting an identical error.  I guess this points to a problem with my 
method, which I've already documented here.  I didn't apply any patches 
to the sources as I was following the directions from this URL : 
http://www.inverse.ca/english/contributions/sogo/documentation.html .  
Are patches required for success?

  After a "make distclean" I applied the SOPE diff to the sources on 
Debian Etch (and both the SOPE and gmake2 diff for Ubuntu) which I've 
seen documented on this list, but still no joy.
