In addition I recoded those language projects: English, German, Basque, Danish, Dutch, French, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, ptBR Please check whether those translations still work properly! I left out: - Hungarian - Japanese - Polish - Slovak Since I did not know which encodings those strings files where in (probably not Latin-1 which does not cover those languages). No, you misunderstood me. Of course UTF-8 is fine for almost any language. What I don't know is in which charset the .string files inside the Slovak.lproj are (those checked in in Subversion). Are those .string files already in UTF-8, are they in Latin-1 (without special Slovak characters) or are they in Latin-2 or something else? Actually the German strings files somehow got recoded to UTF-8 twice and where broken. So please really check whether the strings files as checked in revision 366 are still valid. You might need libFoundation v1.0.65 to try it out (.65 adds an Unicode aware strings parser).
