The SKYRiX distribution also includes some additional software which is not available as part of the OpenGroupware.org project, like: * Application Level Load Balancer (snsd) * Support for Oracle and Sybase databases * CTI Support for CSTA based telephone switches * Outlook Support for ZideStore --- Does that mean that OGo still does not support using Outlook (with or without ZideStore, no matter), and instead one has to buy Skyrix software for Outlook compatibility? Well, SKYRiX 5 *is* OGo in a maintained variant. But in any case you have to buy the ZideLook plugin, which is closed source (and not owned by SKYRiX). There is an effort on a SourceForge project to write an OpenSource Outlook plugin. If this turns out to be successful, we might see a solution with even less cost. BTW: We do not really want to encourage people to use Outlook. We are providing software for doing so, but the preferred way is certainly the development of an Outlook replacement running on Windows. We'll see whether Glow or Chandler will turn into one which can be accepted by Outlook users. best regards, Helge Hess -- http://www.opengroupware.org/ From ebroo@phillips.com Thu Jul 10 19:26:04 2003 Return-Path: Delivered-To: users@opengroupware.org Received: from localhost (mail.opengroupware.org [213.211.192.141]) by mail.opengroupware.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id D5F4618F5C7 for ; Thu, 10 Jul 2003 19:26:04 +0200 (CEST) Received: from mail.opengroupware.org ([213.211.192.141]) by localhost (mail [213.211.192.141]) (amavisd-new, port 10024) with ESMTP id 16052-04 for ; Thu, 10 Jul 2003 19:26:04 +0200 (CEST) Received: from mail.phillips.com (bonin.phillips.com [63.78.31.23]) by mail.opengroupware.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id DDF1E18F5C6 for ; Thu, 10 Jul 2003 19:25:45 +0200 (CEST) Received: from cerberus (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by mail.phillips.com (8.11.1/8.11.1) with ESMTP id h6AHRl325892 for ; Thu, 10 Jul 2003 13:27:47 -0400 (EDT) Reply-To: From: "Edward Brookhouse" To: Date: Thu, 10 Jul 2003 13:28:01 -0400 Message-ID: <000101c34708$9d4ff7c0$655111ac@corp.phillips.com> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Priority: 3 (Normal) X-MSMail-Priority: Normal X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook, Build 10.0.3416 Importance: Normal X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2600.0000 X-Virus-Scanned: by amavisd-new-20030314-p2 (Debian) at opengroupware.org Subject: [OGo-Users] Install library problems Floating point exception Sender: users-admin@opengroupware.org Errors-To: users-admin@opengroupware.org X-BeenThere: users@opengroupware.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.0.11 Precedence: bulk List-Help: List-Post: List-Subscribe: , List-Id: User Support List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: My setup Linux version 2.4.20-8 (bhcompile@porky.devel.redhat.com) (gcc version 3.2.2 20030222 (Red Hat Linux 3.2.2-5)) #1 Thu Mar 13 17:54:28 EST 2003 When attemtping to start OG for the first time using : ./OpenGroupware -WOPort 20000 -WOHttpAllowHost localhost I get : ./OpenGroupware -WOPort 20000 -WOHttpAllowHost localhost ./OpenGroupware: error while loading shared libraries: libOGoFoundation_d.so.1.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory So I try adding /opt/opengroupware.org/Libraries/ix86/linux-gnu/gnu-fd-nil/ To /etc/ld.so.conf; then ldconfig -v I see: /opt//opengroupware.org/Libraries/ix86/linux-gnu/gnu-fd-nil: libOGoScheduler_d.so.1.0 -> libOGoScheduler_d.so.1.0.8 libOGoRawDatabase_d.so.1.0 -> libOGoRawDatabase_d.so.1.0.5 libOGoProject_d.so.1.0 -> libOGoProject_d.so.1.0.12 libOGoJobs_d.so.1.0 -> libOGoJobs_d.so.1.0.11 libOGoDocuments_d.so.1.0 -> libOGoDocuments_d.so.1.0.12 libOGoFileSystemProject_d.so.1.0 -> libOGoFileSystemProject_d.so.1.0.13 libOGoDatabaseProject_d.so.1.0 -> libOGoDatabaseProject_d.so.1.0.12 libOGoContacts_d.so.1.0 -> libOGoContacts_d.so.1.0.13 libOGoBase_d.so.1.0 -> libOGoBase_d.so.1.0.3 libOGoForms_d.so.1.0 -> libOGoForms_d.so.1.0.5 libOGoAccounts_d.so.1.0 -> libOGoAccounts_d.so.1.0.6 libLSSearch_d.so.1.0 -> libLSSearch_d.so.1.0.4 libLSFoundation_d.so.1.0 -> libLSFoundation_d.so.1.0.26 libOGoFoundation_d.so.1.0 -> libOGoFoundation_d.so.1.0.13 libLSAddress_d.so.1.0 -> libLSAddress_d.so.1.0.18 OK .. The problem with libLSFoundation_d.so.1.0 is that it doesn't exist but libLSFoundation_d.so is a link to it from the opengroupware.org-logic-dev pacakge. lrwxrwxrwx root/root 0 2003-07-10 01:39:07 ./usr/lib/opengroupware.org/Libraries/ix86/linux-gnu/gnu-fd-nil/libLSFoundation_d.so -> libLSFoundation_d.so.1.0 This shows that the opengroupware.org-logic package should contain the libLSFoundation_d.so.1.0 but it doesn't. Replacing Exchange is our top priority right now, and we have already deployed OpenLDAP, Cyrus, Postfix, Samba and the Bynari plugin. The Bynari plugin is less than ideal. Namely, it sucks. If this project can fill this need, for groupware working seamlessly across so many different OS's with such good standards support... we're onboard immediatly. :D Thank you for bringing this option to the table! On Mandrake this should work by calling $ source /opt/opengroupware.org/OpenGroupware.org.sh (yes, I know, a bit weird capitalization ;-) Afterwards the Defaults tool should work: $ Defaults read etc. regards, Helge -- OpenGroupware.org - http://www.opengroupware.org/ From helge.hess@opengroupware.org Thu Jul 10 23:55:36 2003 Return-Path: Delivered-To: users@opengroupware.org Received: from localhost (mail.opengroupware.org [213.211.192.141]) by mail.opengroupware.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 42D0518F5C7 for ; Thu, 10 Jul 2003 23:55:36 +0200 (CEST) Received: from mail.opengroupware.org ([213.211.192.141]) by localhost (mail [213.211.192.141]) (amavisd-new, port 10024) with ESMTP id 04859-05 for ; Thu, 10 Jul 2003 23:55:35 +0200 (CEST) Received: from mail.mdlink.net (medusa.mdlink.de [213.211.192.34]) by mail.opengroupware.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 8605C18F5C6 for ; Thu, 10 Jul 2003 23:55:35 +0200 (CEST) Received: from opengroupware.org (unknown [213.211.192.194]) by imap.mdlink.de (Postfix) with ESMTP id D2B12760DF; Fri, 11 Jul 2003 00:02:24 +0200 (CEST) In-Reply-To: <3329.195.130.105.41.1057869018.squirrel@nemesis.ee.teiath.gr> References: <1057870076.3343.7.camel@slash23.barrapunto.com> <1057865583.890.5.camel@gohan.whiprush.org> <3329.195.130.105.41.1057869018.squirrel@nemesis.ee.teiath.gr> Mime-Version: 1.0 (Apple Message framework v578) Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; format=flowed Message-Id: <96E7483A-B321-11D7-B330-000393C29C2A@opengroupware.org> Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Cc: , From: Helge Hess Subject: Re: [OGo-Users] A debian install report: Nearly perfect ;-) Date: Thu, 10 Jul 2003 23:58:07 +0200 To: "Nikos Zaharioudakis" X-Mailer: Apple Mail (2.578) X-Virus-Scanned: by amavisd-new-20030314-p2 (Debian) at opengroupware.org Sender: users-admin@opengroupware.org Errors-To: users-admin@opengroupware.org X-BeenThere: users@opengroupware.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.0.11 Precedence: bulk List-Help: List-Post: List-Subscribe: , List-Id: User Support List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: Please don't kill us, it's our first day in school ! ;-) We'll try to work out the issues tomorrow and provide packages working without hassles. Yes, how was this called, "DLL hell or something" ? ;-) The OGo RPMs provided on the website are build on a very recent RPM distribution and require glibc 2.3 (only in terms of build-time linking, not in terms of functional requirements) which wasn't yet available at RH 7.2 times. So you can either wait till someone steps in as a maintainer for that older version (we can provide the build server !), upgrade to a recent RH version, install glibc 2.3 on your system (should be available on www.fsf.org) or try to build from the source. Bjoern: maybe we should setup a mailinglist like "packagebuild@ogo" ? > Announcement of this project is an amazing event for me and my company. > Replacing Exchange is our top priority right now, and we have already > deployed OpenLDAP, Cyrus, Postfix, Samba and the Bynari plugin. The > Bynari plugin is less than ideal. Namely, it sucks. We heard about that ;-) But to be fair, writing plugins for Outlook is a huge mess - this is no different for ZideLook. > Can we have more information about how Outlook fits into this? What you pay for is ZideLook, the Outlook plugin (the plugin is not owned by us, so we couldn't make it OpenSource). regards, Helge -- OpenGroupware.org - http://www.opengroupware.org/ From helge.hess@opengroupware.org Fri Jul 11 00:57:07 2003 Return-Path: Delivered-To: users@opengroupware.org Received: from localhost (mail.opengroupware.org [213.211.192.141]) by mail.opengroupware.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 14E7418F5C7 for ; Fri, 11 Jul 2003 00:57:07 +0200 (CEST) Received: from mail.opengroupware.org ([213.211.192.141]) by localhost (mail [213.211.192.141]) (amavisd-new, port 10024) with ESMTP id 20502-10 for ; Fri, 11 Jul 2003 00:57:06 +0200 (CEST) Received: from mail.mdlink.net (medusa.mdlink.de [213.211.192.34]) by mail.opengroupware.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id F242A18F5C6 for ; Fri, 11 Jul 2003 00:57:05 +0200 (CEST) Received: from opengroupware.org (unknown [213.211.192.194]) by imap.mdlink.de (Postfix) with ESMTP id 06FCF759F9; Fri, 11 Jul 2003 01:03:54 +0200 (CEST) In-Reply-To: <3F0DE17C.5070005@spiketech.com> References: <3F0DC88C.3080002@spiketech.com> <83B09763-B31F-11D7-B330-000393C29C2A@opengroupware.org> <3F0DE17C.5070005@spiketech.com> Mime-Version: 1.0 (Apple Message framework v578) Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; format=flowed Message-Id: <2D7E7FAE-B32A-11D7-B330-000393C29C2A@opengroupware.org> Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Cc: users@opengroupware.org From: Hel
