Yep, I don't know the 'official state' of CalDAV support but it doesn't
work with any of the clients I've tried (Sunbird, Mulberry).

:)  Everyone has their share of those guys.

Can't blame them,  I don't generally like web apps.

Note that calendaring with a simple iCalendar client like Sunbird
creates a set of issues of its own.

Yep,  InstantOGo does that.  Also there were instructions [by me] in the
docs plone for using OpenLDAP's back-sql to publish OGo information via
LDAP.  Note that my instructions are for an older version of OpenLDAP,
so it would require tweaking to make it work on a newer version.  Today
however Penrose would probably be an easier route;  I haven't had time
to try that yet.
