Using yum on CentOS and Fedora Core makes managing packages very easy.
It really is a great tool.
My little vent was more to do with the out dated docs than anything
else. They made figuring out how to install OGo and _where_ to grab the
packages from harder than it should have been. And, I've done OGo
installs before, so this is really bad!
Anyway, I fumbled around for a bit and eventually figured out where to
get the nightly packages for RHEL4 from (I'm installing on CentOS 4).
I've also managed to use yum locally to do the installs. I'm putting up
a little how-to on my website soon, so I'll get back with a link to it.
So, this isn't _too_ bad now - at least I can use yum to make my life
easier. I'd still prefer that the yum repo existed on the OGo download
servers, though I can live it not being there.
Now on to testing out the OGo database from the ancient OGo server on a
new OGo release. I have no idea what to expect (have there been any
database schema changes??).
Regards,
Ranbir
