Yes.  I understand your frustration.  What is, IMHO,
needed is a simple step-by-step instruction set for
installing.

I have found something approaching this for a
specialised installation to SME server
(http://www.smeserver.org/).

If yopu outline the symptoms that are the cause of
your frustration then we will have a better chance of
