I am in *exactly* the same position right now!
Debian...
Apache2, mods enabled, postgres etc.

Once we sort it, we should write it up, eh?! We can't be the only ones. 
I've been trying to get opengroupware working on different distros for 
two weeks. I'm trying to persevere... and have returned to Debian - 
which is where I started.
