[OGo-Users] Install on Debian Etch or other suggestions?

It looks like I have two versions running at the same time? 7.4 and 8.1 ?
Both have pg_hba.conf files.
The 7.4 one is identical to the settings below the 8.1 one is slightly
different as it does not explicitly identify the subnet mask.
The local network I'm running on has a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 ... do I
need to change the setting in the 7.4 pg_hba.conf file to match?

/etc/postgresql/7.4/main# vi pg_hba.conf
looks like this...
# Database administrative login by UNIX sockets
local all postgres ident sameuser
# TYPE DATABASE USER IP-ADDRESS IP-MASK METHOD
local all all
ident sameuser
# IPv4-style local connections:
host all all 127.0.0.1 255.255.255.255 md5
# IPv6-style local connections:
host all all ::1
ffff:ffff:ffff:ffff:ffff:ffff:ffff:ffff md5
