This is a big gotcha.  Especially if your database is like mine -
~25,000 contacts only a small percentage of which have e-mail addresses,
and of those that do some are *not* unique  (here in the "rust belt" it
is still not at all uncommon to have everyone at a company share an AOL
or MSN account, for example).

Agree;  I know that I'm tired of explaining why iCalendar PUT is/was a
bad idea.
