Hi there,

we've got a probably stupid newbie question regarding informational =20
dates. Most of our users subscribe to their iCal overview calendars =20
from Korganizer, Apple iCal and Thunderbird, which is perfect for =20
usual appointments. However, there are several informational dates =20
that we would like to share. For example days when the office is =20
closed, dates of conferences, semester holidays, etc. The question is =20=

now, how to manage this kind of dates. We have found two "solutions" =20
that both are not 100% satisfactory:

a) Enter no one as a participant and set the read-access to 'news-=20
editors' (never understood where this group is for) -> this is =20
impossible because the web interface forbids appointments without =20
participants.
b) Enter "all intranet" as a participant. In this case, all =20
subscribers see the date in their personal overview calendars. =20
However, this interferes with free-busy lists.
c) Create a dummy users "dates", set him as participant and let =20
everybody subscribe to "his" personal overview calendar in addition to =20=

theirs. Works but doesn't feel good :-)

Is there a more sensible solution?

Thanks in advance,
Mark
