The :1 does _not_ mean its initialized to 1. Its a C language bitfield  
(1 bit of the integer, we just need one bit for the flag).

Unless its set in some -init method, it is per default initialized to  
0 (all memory of the ObjC object is cleared before its used, setting  
all bits to 0).
