I would expect that, in OGo every appointment must have a participant.=20=

The only thing I could imagine is that the xmlrpcd somehow uses the=20
login user as the participant automagically if no other participants=20
are passed in.

Maybe you should create a bugreport on the matter and attach a small=20
Python script which reproduces the issue.
